Is your faith built on sand or on solid rock ?

Help us to spread
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
In today’s Christian world, many are falling away from faith because their foundation is not securely built on the eternal Rock, the Word of God. Rather it is built on sand which is the testimonies on material things, experiences of other people, miracles and wonders etc. When trials come, they doubt his love, complain and question even the existence of God?
There is a great responsibility for pastors and teachers to take care of their flock by giving them unadulterated milk which is the Word of God. (1 Peter 2/2). Instead many bible preachers lure their flock to themselves, their YouTube channels, facebook, website and towards their bank accounts to gain fame and money. They only feed themselves. Therefore the flock goes astray and become predators for all the animals in the forest. (Ezekiel 34:1-6)
Many believers without this strong foundation in the Word are lured to wrong doctrines that lead to destruction. In this busy fast paced life, we need to invest our time in learning the foundational doctrines so that we have our ground & don’t sway with the world.
In the times of the Apostles, they not only taught the basic teachings of Christ but also prepared them to grow to the full maturity of Christ in the Knowledge of Him. (Hebrews 6/1)
Let us pray that many pastors & teachers will rise to lead Christians in right knowledge and wisdom (Jeremiah 3/15) and help them grow with enthusiasm by feeding on the Living Manna. Let us also pray that believers will not just be hearers of the word but doers of the word, like the wise man who built his house on a solid rock.
